Marisa DeMaria is a Puerto Rican visual artist whose abstract compositions invite reflection and slowness in contrast to the speed of contemporary life.
Influenced by her work as a “slow looking” guide at the Cleveland Museum of Art, she creates paintings that foreground color, texture, and form—encouraging open-ended interpretation and personal connection.
With a formal background in art history and a self-taught visual practice, she has exhibited in Manhattan, Brooklyn, London, Paris, and Cleveland. Her work, held in private collections around the world, embraces ambiguity as a tool for rediscovery, offering viewers space to engage deeply with their own perception and creativity.
